New Nike colourways

I've just seen a post on bigsoccer.com by messidinho showing pictures of several Nike boots that are up for release this year. They include:

Nike Mercurial VI: Violet/Orange/Obsidian, and a really vivid green colour.
Nike CTR360: Black/Blue and White/Black/Green
Nike T90 Laser III: Neptune Blue/Vibrant yellow, red/black/, grey/black/red and white/blue.

Most of them look brilliant, especially the CTRs. I will post the picture here, only if I check with messidinho and he allows it.

There are pictures of all of these boots so far on the blog apart from the green Mercurials, but the picture messidinho took is of salesman samples in a shop.

Again, big props to him for finding them!

Nike Mercurial Vapor VI/Superfly II

Nikes Mercurial range will be released in its sixth incarnation in 2010. They are set to be released in April, and will feature new names for each of the ranges boots. The bottom range Velocity will become the Victory, the Steam will become the Glide and the Talaria will become the Miracle. Not quite sure why Nike are doing this, but they are. The Vapor and Superfly will stay the same.
The two release colourways are Violet Pop/Total Orange/Obsidian and Dark Obsidian/White/Cool Mint.

Aesthetically, there are a few minor changes from the current Mercurial. The tick seems to bit a lot large and a lot more central than what it is currently, and most noticeably there is the new design on the instep. It will usually be of a different colour like the current MV, but will feature an almost mosaic, straight lined design.

There are several interesting and distinctive features between each boot in the range, and changes from the Mercurial V. Firstly, the Superfly has two new circular studs on the instep. I've read reports that these have now been dropped from the design, but until Nike confirm it themselves then assume they will be on the boots when they are released. I don't know if it's to aid in turning, or whether it provides additional grip or something else. I'm sure we will find out soon enough. The Superfly features a black carbon fibre soleplate, where as the Vapor has a grey full length one. On the pictures you can also see that the Vapor has dual density studs which were first featured on the Superfly I. These type of studs are even featured on the Miracle (Talaria), but I don't thikn they have the holes drilled in them which are to save weight. The Miracle also has what looks like a part carbon fibre sole, not a full length one. This could however just be fibreglass. The Glide (Steam) also features what looks like carbon fibre on the soleplate but could just be fibreglass. The lace cover has also been improved and looks a lot like what the Vapor has, which is a massive gain over the current Steam lace cover which is pretty poor. The Victory (Veloctiy) has no major features from what I can tell and remains an entry level boot.

A third colourway has also been leaked on the internet recently. It's a yellow colourway simliar to that of the recently released yellow Vapor V, and has what looks like a Black or Green instep.

Nike Total 90 Laser III

With the Laser IIIs only just being released, there are plenty of new colourways on the horizon. The first of these will be Neptune Blue/Vibrant Yellow/Black. These will then be followed by a K-Leather Black/Challenge Red/Silver. These will be released in April, around the same time as the CTR Red/Gold/White and the Vapor VI/Superfly II. Looks like it's going to be a busy month for Nike!

The next colourway releases after that will be the two debut colourways of the Elite range, featuring the Carbon Fibre soleplate. Early testers and reviewers of the boot have stated that weight has been cut down to 235g, which is a about 85g less than the current Laser. The two colourways will be Challenge Red/White/Dark shadow and a K-Leather White/Photo Blue/Charcoal. The former appears to be made of a one piece upper, or at least an upper with very little stitching. The latter is my favourite colourway yet, it will offer a safe alternative to the bold colourways released so far.
The colourways pictured are:
Challenge Red/White/Dark Shadow
K-Leather Black/Challenge Red/Silver
K-Leather White/Photo Blue/Charcoal
The Neptune Blue/Yellow picture will be featured in an upcoming blog.
MASSIVE thanks to messidinho and cschultz9 of bigsoccer.com for finding these pictures, and then allowing me to post them on here so you guys can see them. You should all go ahead and check out the forum they have their, lots of great users who are all passionate about football boots. They all know their stuff too, great if you need advice or help or anything along those lines.

Nike CTR360

The newest addition to Nike's football boot range will be receiving several understated new colourways this year. After the release colour or Black/Red and the fantastic White/Black/Del Sol colourway, Nike went a little bit understated with the White/Blue/Silver colourway.
The next colourway released will be in April, and it's Team Red/Metallic Gold/Summit White. This will be the final colourway of the original CTR before a slight aesthetic change.

The new CTRs will be released in July, after the World Cup. They will be part of Nikes new ELITE range, which will introduce a Carbon Fibre soleplate to all high end boots across their range. I will post a blog detailing this more clearly in the future, but basically Nike stepped up the Vapor to the Superfly to create a superlight boot. They are doing this to the CTRs, Total 90 Laser IIIs and Air Legend IIIs. So Adidas may have the lightest boot in the world in the adiZero, but Nike will have the lightest range.

The small aesthetic change will be a dotted fade between the two colourways on the boot, similar to that of the heel design on the Vapor IIIs. The two release colourways will be Black/White/Retro and White/Cyber Black.

Puma PowerCat

These are Pumas new Power boot; the Powercat. They will be replacing the V-Konstrukt range and the first colourway of Black/Green is due to be released in February. These will be followed by an Italy colourway of White/Blue/Gold in March. Then, Puma will be releasing a Tricks version of the Powercat, which will be lighter than the normal Powercats. These will be released in Autumn/Fall in a joint release with the new v1.10 SL Tricks.

Puma v1.10

These are there unreleaed colourways of the Puma v1.10. The first is a Royal/Silver/Black which is due for release in March 2010. Personally, these are my favourite colourway so far. The v1.10 range started out poorly with the initial colour releases of the Yellow/Red and the Red/White. However, Puma upped there game with the next two releases of Black/Red and a White/Red K-Leather. Now, they have gone one better with these.

The Black/Blue K-Leather are due for release in Autumn/Fall of 2010. I also believe that Puma will release a White/Blue colourway at the same time, either in a synthetic upper or a leather upper. It seems like Puma are just reversing their colourways around at the moment...

Finally, these are the boots I'm most excited about. Puma are enterting the 'superlight' boot race. Nike has the Superfly, Adidas has the Adizero, and Puma will have the v1.10 SL/Tricks. They will weigh approximately 180grams, and have been developed with the aid of one of their star names; Usain Bolt. Apparently the same technology that goes into light weight sprinting shoes has been used here. The Black/Orange tribal colourway certainly makes them stand out, and are a return to form for what seemed like a wavering Puma Football brand.

Adidas F50 Adizero

These are the new Adidas F50 Adizeros, a replacement for the current F50i, and Adidas' first real competitor to Nike's Superfly. They are rumoured to weight just 165 grams (5.8oz), making them the lightest football boot ever made.
The release colourway will be the Chameleon Purple, which will be Lionel Messi's colourway. It's a two-tone design, looking black from certain angles and a deep, rich purple from others. The accent is green, with the soleplate being either black or white. It's release date is approximately May 15th.

The Black/Yellow is the World Cup colour, which Adidas are releasing as a colourway across their range (Adizero, Predator X, AdiPure III). They will be available in both a synthetic upper and a leather upper, with the release date being in May/June.

Next, is the White/Black/Pink colourway. These are due to be released in July, two months after the initial release. They will also be available in both synthetic and leather.

The Yellow/Black pictured is made of a leather upper, but I believe these too will be released in a synethic upper. I don't know the release date of this colourway yet.
There will also be a Gold/Black colourway being released. No release date as of yet.

Adidas Predator X

These are all unreleased colourways of the Adidas Predator X. The Black/Yellow is the World Cup colourway which is due for release in May. The White/Blue and Navy/Scarlet/White are both Champions League colourways, as you can see from the Champions League stars on the Predator element. The Navy colourway is due for release in February/March of this year, whilst the White/Blue will be released in the second half of 2010 for the 10/11 Champions League. The final colourway is a Red/White David Beckham colourway. It has his symbol on the instep near the Predator element. I don't know the release date yet.

Adidas AdiPure III

These are all unreleased colourways of the new AdiPure III. The Black/Yellow are obviously the World Cup edition, and are to be released in May some time. The White/Royal are due for release on March 25th, and are available to pre-order now. As of yet, I don't know the release dates of the White/Black/Red or the Royal/White.
